Simple golf exercise suitable for all levels

Simple exercise suitable for all levels that can be done at home with a dumbbell, kettlebell, or medicine ball.

The lead leg and trunk muscles work to quickly accelerate and then decelerate the momentum of the weight and body.

You will feel the glute on the lead side working in particular.

This can be a nice one to get a general sense of weight and pressure shift in an athletic motion as well.

Programs will be primarily made up of more loadable and progressive strengthening exercises like squatting, lunging, pressing, pulling etc, but these are a nice add on for a golfer.

It’s a little bit of a “crossover” exercise in that it’s not really a strength exercise in the traditional way, but I still think has some benefits. Especially for beginner trainees.

They function nicely as a warm up exercise too.

About 8lbs, 6 to 8 reps, 2-3 reps each side works well.
