Jumps are great for training explosive strength & fast twitch fibers in the legs.
Why might you choose this particular variation?
1) Low impact & tendon stress – no counter movement & removing almost all of the landing by landing on the box rather than the ground achieves this
2) Setting a shallow depth & removing the counter movement means you have very little time to produce force. Great for rate of force development.
Doesn’t mean it’s “better” than other jumps, just a really nice option.
