Single-Arm Dumbbell Row: Build Golf-Specific Upper-Body Strength

Very good upper body strength exercise!

What is “strong” on this exercise?

Females: 35% of bodyweight X 5 reps
Males: 50% of bodyweight X 5 reps

So if you are a male weighing 200lbs, a 100lb dumbbell x 5 reps on each arm.

As always with strength goals relative to bodyweight, if you are carrying an extra 20,30,50lbs etc of fat, these strength numbers will seem high.

Maybe base them off your “goal bodyweight”.

Start with a conservative weight, slowly add weight. You will hit the numbers I cited within a couple of years no problem if you push yourself 🙂.
